WILLENHALL HERITAGE DAY 2014....

The Spitfire has landed ... Here's 'Lucy' at Willenhall Heritage Day 2014 at the CHART Centre ... who said it couldn't be done! - these guys were amazing...   BTW - did you know that Lucy is also a film star - check out Foyle's War... 

THE PINNACLE IN THE BACKGROUND MAKES IT ALL THE MORE SURREAL..!

Anyway, Lucy arrived and the team were fantastic - lots of visitors from far and wide flocked to see this - over 400 through the doors...

Meanwhile, inside, Andrew Fereday gets his prize for being the winning photographer in our 'Willenhall and it's Community' Photographic Competition.... A canvas print sponsored by Alcame Photographic, Willenhall, While the Junior prize goes to Calum Tonry, age 7, who will receive a family pass to the Black Country Living Museum for his winning entry ... (sponsored by BCLM).

The Willenhall Flag Competition is in its final day - who the winner will be, no-one knows at this stage...  voting continues...

Even the local community police were involved, with vintage period uniforms.

Some more of the Spitfire connection with Willenhall - the original 1940 Spitfire accounts on display with a rudder pedal, designed and drop forged by w.h tildesley, Willenhall; an award winning design, made to conform precisely to CAA specifications...  There is also a photo of the Messersmitt which was displayed on the Wakes ground in 1940, to raise funds to buy the Spitfire in WW2 - the final funds collectedtotalled over £6000.
